INJURED  LOGGERHEAD  STRANDS ON  SAND  BAR  OFF  FRIPP  ISLAND, SC  ON 07/11/03
Rescued with the help of Fripp Island visitors, turtle volunteers, Hunting Island park Rangers and Fripp Islands Security Chief, Chester "Chet" Kowalski. The turtle had damage to the right front flipper, neck, and carapace which may have been inflicted by a shark attack.

She was taken to a holding pool at Hunting Island State Park and was transported from there to the Charleston Aquarium by the Department of Natural Resources. On 07/12 her damaged flipper was removed and is being treated with antibiotics.
