ISLC offers ISDN Internet access.
ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) allows you to surf much faster than a
typical modem connection. In simple terms ISDN is a digital phone line. Traditional
phone lines are analog and as such are susceptible to all sorts of noise and
variations in quality. That's why you get a range of connect speeds on a regular
modem. ISDN, however, only connects at 64K for each channel...no more no
less. It is very clean and very fast compared to traditional modems. Business and home users
install ISDN adapters (commonly called ISDN modems) to replace their current analog
modem, which generally run from $100 - $200 for home-use types.
ISDN dial-up for 64K is $24.95/month plus the signup fee (for new customers). ISDN dial-up
for 128K is $39.95/month plus the signup fee. This charge is in addition to the
ISDN phone service charged by your phone company. You will need to contact your
phone company for current rates and availability in your area.
There are strict session and time-out limits on ISDN Dial-up. ISDN Dial-up is not
available for web server purposes (game servers, site hosting, mail servers, etc.).
