Creating Identities in Outlook Express
You can create identities when you have several users on one computer. Adding identities gives each user his or her own mailbox and address book. If you are adding a POP account, and wish to use these features, Follow the steps below. If you do not want to use identities, click HERE, and follow the directions for adding POP Accounts.
In Outlook Express click on FILE.
Choose Identities from the list.
Click Add New Identity, as shown below.
When this is done, the following window will appear.
In Identity, type your first name or the account user's first name.
If you wish to use a password, making this access require a password.
Enter New Password, and Confirm New Password, as shown below (both lines MUST MATCH).
Click OK.
You will be returned to the original window, click OK again.
You will now be asked to switch to that identity now, choose YES.
When you switch to the new identity, Outlook Express will close and reopen to setup the mail account for the new identity.
Choose Create a new internet mail account.
From this point, follow the steps below for creating a POP Account.
A new window, the Internet Connection Wizard, will appear.

Enter your name, as you want it to appear in Outgoing Mail
Click Next.
On the next screen, enter your e-mail address.
Use lower case (small) letters.

Click Next.
On the next screen, you will be asked for POP3 and SMTP servers. Enter mail.islc.net for both areas, as shown below.
Click Next.
On the following screen, type your username and password. Make sure you use lower case (small) letters.
Your password will appear as small x's.

Click Next.
You are now finished! Click the Finish button and return to the main screen.
When you use this identity, it will check the email on the account you just created. Only the Main Identity will still check the original account.
You can set up more identities following this same procedure.
To access your identity, click File, switch Identity.
