To Change Your Password in Windows Versions
95/98/WinME/2000:
- Select Start / Run.
- At "Run" Window, in the "Open" field type: telnet server.islc.net
- This will connect you to the server. When prompted to login, enter your username.
- Next, enter your password. You won't see anything on the screen but it is going in.
- The computer will ask you to type in your old password.
- Next the computer will ask you to type in a new password. This password is case
sensitive, must be at least six characters. You will not be able to use all lowercase letters. You must have a number, uppercase character, or other symbol in the password for the server to accept your entry.
- The computer then asks you to verify your password by retyping it. Make sure you type it
exactly as before, and remember it's case sensitive.
- You're almost done! The computer will automatically close the terminal connection.
- The last step is changing your password in Dial-Up Networking. Open the My Computer
icon. Select Dial-Up Networking then double-click on the ISLC icon. At
the password prompt type in your new password exactly as you did in steps 7
and 8.
NOTE: Changing your password here only changes your password for dialing in and downloading email. The password you originally set when you signed up (otherwise known as your master password) will not be changed. The master password is used to access your account information via the customer service screen (to check usage time, pay online, etc.). To change your master password please contact the billing department at 770-1000 (888-828-4752) ext 251.
Now you are finished! If you have any questions or problems, please call 770-1000 and
