Nest 1 Karen N. ~ zone 1 ~ Thursday, 5/16/02 just south of POA 1. Karen N. and Alden W. relocated 92 eggs from Nest 1 to an area near POA 6 as this nests was laid within the Spring High Tide wrack line and subject flooding. Expect hatch date 5/16 + 63 = 7/18 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 2 Karen N. ~ zone 1 ~ Thursday, 5/16/02 just south of POA 1. Tony N. relocated 141 eggs to an area near POA 6 as this nests was laid within the Spring High Tide wrack line and subject flooding. Expect hatch date 5/16 + 63 = 7/18 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 3 121 eggs - relocated by Bethany, Cara and Leon Thurs. 5-23-02 - from in front of the beach club to an area just north of Rock Beauty Road. Expect hatch date 5/23 + 63 = 7/26 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 4 147 eggs - relocated by Karen N. and Karen A. Tues. 5-28-02 - from in front of Capt. John Fripp Villas (north of the Beach Club) to an area just north of Rock Beauty Road. Expect hatch date 5/28 + 63 = 7/30 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 5 120 eggs - relocated by Lois W. & Leon L. Thursday, 5-30-02 - from next to Silverside access (POA 16) to area just north of Rock Beauty Road. Expect hatch date 5/30 + 63 = 8/01 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 6 117 eggs - relocated by Lois W. & Leon L. Thursday, 5-30-02 - from access @ POA 14 to area just north of Rock Beauty Road (POA 15). Expect hatch date 5/30 + 63 = 8/01 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 7 Tony N. and Karen N. found Nest 7 in zone 1 Sunday, 6/2/02 just south of POA 2. Georgia R. and Bruce R. relocated the 135 eggs to an area near the C.P. Expect hatch date 6/02+ 63 = 8/04 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 8 130 eggs - Zone 2 - relocated by Linda L. and Lois W. Tues. 6-11-02 - from just South of the Beach Club to an area just north of Rock Beauty Road. . Expect hatch date 6/11 + 63 = 8/13 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 9 Tues. 6/11 by Alden W., Karen A and Karen N. in Zone 1, just North of POA 4 Left in situ because it was above the Spring High Tide line, on the dune, with no evidence of any wrack line behind the nest area. Expect hatch date 6/11 + 63 = 8/13 93 unhatched eggs due to 10 days of heavy rain in June. First emergence 8/05 Inventoried 8/08 (1 dead hatchlings) 33 empty shells 93 unhatched eggs ------- 126 total eggs 33-1=32/125 = 26% successful hatch & emergence
Nest 10 Found Wednesday, June 12, in Zone 2, near POA 12 by Karen N. Relocated 153 eggs to area near POA 6. Largest nest to date. Expect hatch date 6/12 + 63 = 8/14 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 11 Found Friday June 14, Zone 2, just South of the Beach Club stairs by Georgia R. Georgia R., Bruce R. and Nancy H. relocated 107 eggs to an area just North of Rock Beauty Rd. Expect hatch date 6/14 + 63 = 8/16 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 12 Alden W. found Nest 12 in zone 1 Saturday, June 15, just south of POA 1. Gail S., Martha B. and Dick B. relocated 136 eggs to the base of a small dune between POA 3 & 4. Expect hatch date 6/15 + 63 = 8/17 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.

Nest 15 Tony N., 97 eggs, Sunday, June 23, zone 1, just south of POA 2. Georgia & Bruce R., Karen & Tony N Relocated 95 eggs to area north of POA 6. Expect hatch date 6/23 + 56 = 8/18 Total loss due to 10 days of heavy rain in June.
Nest 16 Darnell K., Mary G. & Susan B., Monday, June 24, Zone 2, just south of POA 6. Left "in situ" as the nest was deposited above the spring high tide line and at the base of a small dune. Expect hatch date 6/24 + 56 = 8/19 First emergence 8/17 Inventoried 8/21 (0 dead hatchlings) 106 unhatched eggs due to 10 days of heavy rain in June. 44 empty shells 106 unhatched eggs ------- 150 total eggs 44/150 = 29% successful hatch & emergence

Nest 21 Darnell K., Mary G.& Susan B. found nest 21, Monday, July 08, in Zone 1, Just north of POA 3. With the help of Jessica Shortridge, 125 eggs were relocated to the area just south of POA 6. Expect hatch date 7/08 +56 = 9/02 69 unhatched eggs due to heavy rains in August. Nest 22 Tony N., Tuesday, July 09, Zone 2, at POA 13. This turtle was still on the beach and laying eggs at 06:30. She was a large turtle and deposited 170 eggs. The largest nest to date, she was 46 inches long and 40 inches wide. 170 eggs were relocated to the area north of POA 15 (Rock Beauty Rd.). Expect hatch date 7/09 + 56 = 9/03 First emergence 8/27 14 dead hatchlings due to heavy rains in August. Inventoried 8/31 (14 dead hatchlings) 152 empty shells 18 unhatched eggs ------- 170 total eggs 152-14=138/170 = 81% successful hatch & emergence
Nest 23 Linda L., Thursday, July 11, Zone 2 in front of Capt. John Fripp Villa's just south of Rock Beauty Rd. Linda L. and Leon L. relocated 138 eggs to the area north of POA 15 (Rock Beauty Rd.). Expect hatch date 7/11 + 56 = 9/05 First emergence 8/31 46 dead hatchlings due to heavy rains in August.
