Friday, May 16th

Nest #1 with 108 eggs was found north of Red Drum South (POA #5) by Linda S. The nest was relocated further back behind the wrack line to protect it from  spring tides by Janie Lackman, Ben & Jane TenEyck & Cindy & Rob White

Monday, May 19th

Nest #2 was found just north of POA #4 N. Red Drum Area by Jackie Eckert, Betsy Koehler, Sam Taylor, Janie Lackman, Kathy Agee and Cyndi & Robbie White. 152 eggs were laid but Six eggs were broken in the nest most likely due to crab predation. Relocated the remaining 146 Eggs.

Friday, May 23rd

Nest #3 with 106 eggs was found just north of POA #4 N. Red Drum Area by Linda S., Janie L and Ben & Jane T. Six eggs were broken, 100 were relocated behind the wrack line next to nest #1.

Friday, May 23rd

Nest #4 was found by Karen N. on the edge of a scarp just north of the Beach Club. 126 eggs were relocated  by Karen N., Ben T., Linda S.,  Janie L. and Cyndi W. to a seaward side of a small dune just south of Rock Beauty Rd. Two sets of double eggs were present in this nest.

Nest #6 found by Robbie W. on the sand bar opposite POA 11 with 154 eggs. Robbie, Cyndi, Gary, Janie and Rich relocated 147 eggs to the site where Nests 1 & 3 are located at POA #5.

Friday, June 6th

Nest #9 found by Cyndi White in a depression behind the wrack line just north of POA #4 ( North Red Drum). All 96 eggs were relocated to the seaward side of a dune on higher ground by  Cyndi W., Jane T., Karen N., Robbie W., Janie L. Rudy K. & Linda S.

Saturday, June 7th

Nest #10 Betsy K. and Martha and Dick B. found 122 eggs just north of POA #5. Some were exposed and ten had been predated by ghost crabs. 112 eggs were relocated further back from the wash to higher ground, beside nests #1, 3 and 6 ( POA #5)

Sunday, June 8th

Nest #11 Jean K. and Rich C. found nest #11 just north of POA #19 between revetment rocks and in heavy wrack. Because the body pit was so small, we quickly found the nest and Robbie & Cyndi helped us relocate 152 eggs next to nest 4, just south of POA #15 (Rock Beauty).

Monday, June 9th

Nest #12 Janie L. and Betsy K. found this nest just south of POA #16. It was in a good place close to the rocks, left in situ. There was a crab hole that we followed down to the nest, but no sign of any damaged eggs.

Saturday, June 14th

Nest #13 Martha B. found 138 eggs close to the high tide mark south of POA #2. With the support of Jessie and Chris from Denver, Betsy K. Dickie B. & Martha B.  136 eggs were relocated  to the seaward side of a small dune further back from the high tide line.

Monday, June 16th

Nest #14 just south of POA #16, Micki, Betsy and Peggy found classic tracks and well covered body pit just above the rack line from the spring tide. Left in situ.

Nest #15 Karen N. found this nest above the  spring tide wrack line just south of POA #2  With an assist from Tony N., Bob F., Cindy W., Robbie W., Rudy K. and the Amerson family  (who watched her nest at 19:30 the evening before). It was left in situ

Nest #16 found in the wrack line at Red Drum South (POA #5) by Betsy K and Micki M. 101 eggs (and a little spacer egg) were relocated next to Nest #10 at POA #5.

Thursday, June 19th

Nest #17 Janie L. found this nest in low sand at POA #6. The nest was very shallow and ghost crabs had predated 10 eggs. 108 eggs were relocated to a high spot south of POA #5 with the help of Faye B., Jean K., Kathy A. and Rich C.

Nest #18 found north of POA #18 up against the rock revetment. The nest was left in situ. Kathy Agee, Dickie and Martha Blanchard and Janie Lackman.

Nest #19 Jean K. found it on the sand bar opposite POA #13. Relocated 119 eggs to high sand just north of POA #13 by Janie L., Rich C., Rudy and Jenny K, assisted by Robbie and Cindy W.

Nest #20 Linda F. found 120 eggs behind the wrack line opposite POA #4. Relocated 119 eggs to high sand just north of POA #5 by Bob F., Karen & Tony N., Janie L & Cindy W.

Tuesday, July 1st

Nest #24 found by Bob F. in the area of relocated nests at Red Drum South (POA #5). Nest was very shallow with some eggs left on surface 10 of which were lost to ghost crabs. 119 eggs were relocated a few feet further back from high tide line by Tony & Karen Natoli, Bob & Linda Freeman and Janie Lackman.

Wednesday, July 2nd

Nest #25 Mary G., Phyllis C. and Micki M. just above the wrack line opposite POA #4 (Red Drum, North). 111 eggs were relocated straight back to the dune line. This turtle came up at high tide at 19:00 the evening before and wore two flipper tags, RRJ766 & RRJ769. Karen Natoli shot some video and Gary Braatz took some pictures of her.

Saturday, July 5th

Nest #26 Found by Dickie B. north of POA #4 (Red Drum, North).  on the seaward side of a small dune with the assistance of Betsy K., Martha B., Karen W. and Jim W. The nest was left in situ.

Sunday, July 6th

Nest #27 Found by the Roseler family on the sandbar opposite POA#13 (Winter Trout). Janie L, Kaelin, Sean, and, Laura marked it off. As the picture indicates after nesting she was disoriented  possibly because there was water on all sides but she figured it out. Since the nest was more than 12 hours old we had little choice but to leave it in situ until July 30 when it was relocated to the area south of POA #5.

Friday, July 18th

Nest #32 Just south of POA# 3 on the wrack line. A phone call from a island visitor prompted us to take a closer look at the area in question and Karen N. found the nest chamber. Since the nest was more than 12 hours old we had little choice but to leave it in situ. Relocated July 31 to area south of POA #5  to prevent tidal overwash.

Tuesday, July 22nd

Nest #33 Found at the high tide line opposite POA #5 (Red Drum South). The turtle had come in at high tide after midnight and tracks and body pit were well defined. Janie L. had observed the turtle laying; eggs were located by Linda F. and Karen N. without probing. Bob F., Tony N. and Kathy Gaubis also assisted in relocating 115 eggs to POA #4 (Red Drum North) adjacent to Nest #29.
