**The YMCA of Beaufort County recognizes the importance of the family unit in the lives of children and adults. Clarification about who is included in this category will be based on those who are claimed as legal dependents on the prior year's IRS income tax return.
Payment
Methods - The YMCA of Beaufort County offers 2 payment plans:
(1) Annually by cash, check, or credit card
(2) Monthly Bank Drafts. A form must be completed to establish the draft
plan, which can only be canceled with a 30 day advance written notice.
A $10.00 fee will be charged on any NSF bank drafts or returned checks.
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!
Membership Cancellation Policy - Membership can be canceled with a minimum of 30 days advance written notice. Membership cards must be returned. Forms are available at the front desk. A $10 administrative fee will be charged for annual membership canceled prior to their original expiration date.
Financial Assistance - Financial assistance is available thanks to the generosity of friends of the YMCA and our local United Way. Information and applications are available at the front desk.
YMCA Member Benefits - The following programs and services are included with your membership at no additional charge:
Locker Room Policy - Only children 4 years and under are allowed in the opposite gender locker room. A special needs dressing room is available. *Please lock up all valuables or leave them at the front desk. Lockers are for day use only.
Youth Policy - Children 12 years old and under must have a parent in the building unless they are in an organized activity.
Dress Policy - Shoes and shirts must be worn in the gym, fitness center and other indoor activities.
Pool Policy - Shower before entering the pool. No cutoffs. Children ages 6 and up can come to the pool without a parent during Family Recreational Swim Time if they can pass the swim test and if the parent stays within the building.
Guest Policy - Any person coming to the YMCA for the first time, who lives within the Beaufort/jasper County area will be allowed in one time for a free visit if they come with a member or by themselves to try out the facilities. After one visit they can not come in unless they purchase a membership. If a person is from out of town with member there will be a five dollar charge. If they are a member of another YMCA, they will get three visits in a month for free and additional visits will be five dollars each visit.
Fitness Center Policy - As a safety precaution, children under the age of 13 are not permitted in the fitness center. Children ages 13-15 may use the fitness center if their parent or guardian is in the fitness center with them.
A.W.A.Y. Program - The YMCA of Beaufort County is proud to announce that we now participate in the national A.W.A.Y. (Always Welcome at YMCAs) Program. When planning a trip, we have a directory that lists all participating YMCAs and their policies. See the front desk for more details.
